This is a part of my Illinois state report. I wanted to share this because this is the best part of it.


Geography

Do you know anything about Illinois and its rivers? To begin, the Mississippi River is along the western border. There are about 500 rivers and streams in Illinois that flow to the Mississippi River. Hills rise between some of these rivers. The Mississippi River has canals that link it to Lake Michigan. Sprawling along Lake Michigan is Chicago, the largest city in the Midwest, is located in the central lowland.  the Ozark Plateaus,one of the four land regions in the prairie states along the Mississippi River in the southwest. Now the Coastal Plain, is on the southern tip of Illinois. Interior low plateaus contain hills with forest.The Central Lowland covers 90% of the state (that's almost the whole state). Illinois has lots of rivers and lakes that affects the climate. mountains. The summer's average temperature is 75 degrees Fahrenheit though the south is hotter than the north. The winter's average is about -30 degrees fahrenheit.
