Immune

I hang up the phone, and hop in the car. On my way to Jolee's laboratory I call Philly, Rick, Rodger, Eve, Reese, and Bernard to tell them to come the lab as soon as possible.
After hours of driving across the country side I finally arrive at the lab. Philly, Reese, and Bernard show up not long after, but we have to wait a while before Rick, Rodger, and Eve show up.
“So what went wrong with your experiment exactly?” I ask.
“Well I thought I had found the perfect formula to make Klaus’s sore throat go away, but it only got worse,” Jolee answered.
“Ok, not really seeing how this involves us,” I say.
“After Klaus finally went to sleep, I started a new project,” Jolee continues as if I had never spoken.
“And what was that?” Philly asks curiously.
“The Cell-maker,” Jolee answers.
“That sounds interesting,” Bernard chimed in.
“I want all of you to be the first ones to experiment with it. I’ll turn you all in to extra powerful cells, so you can fight the bacteria in Klaus’s throat. Catron you’ll be the macrophage cell which means you are going to identify the antigen. Bernard you’re going to be the T cell, so you can call other cells to fight the germs. Reese you can be the B cell. You will tag the virus which weakens it. Philly I’m making you the K cell. You get the fun job of killing the virus. Eve your cell is a little more time consuming than the others. I’m making you a memory cell, so you will hang out to protect Klaus from any future sickness. And last but not least Roger you’re going to be a C cell, so your job will be to kill any infected cells. I’m sorry to say that any of you might get infected and Roger will have to terminate you.” We all nod at Jolee remembering which cell we’ll become.
“What am I going to do?” Rick asks.
“Stay here with me to make sure Klaus gets better,” she answers.
Moments later Bernard, Reese, Philly, Eve, Roger, and I are morphed into our assigned cells are being lowered into Klaus’s throat.
“Ok everybody,” I say, “I’m going to find the bacteria and identify it for Bernard.” Soon I find the germs and tell Bernard what kind of bacteria we’re dealing with.
“Ok everybody,” I say, “I’m going to find the bacteria and identify it for Bernard.” Soon I find the germs and tell Bernard what kind of bacteria we’re dealing with.
“Seems to me we’ll need a lot more cells than I first suspected,” Bernard tells us, and sends out his flag to get the other cells to come attack the germs.
“I just tagged it,” Reese calls over to the rest of us, “Philly help your K cells kill the bacteria.”
“I just tagged it,” Reese calls over to the rest of us, “Philly help your K cells kill the bacteria.”
“On it,” Philly yells in reply.
“Ouch! Ow! Get away!” Bernard yells as the germs swarm him.
“Bernard! Everyone help him!” I scream at the top of my lungs, but it is too late. Bernard is already infected.
“Hey, Catron,” Bernard yells to me in a mean tone, “guess what’s stupid and will never make Klaus’s throat feel better. You! Haha!”
Bernard insults the others as well, and we are practically begging Roger to terminate him. He takes no hesitate to do this action, and soon Bernard is no longer able to insult us.
“Eve, the bacteria is almost finished. Get ready to take your part in the mission,” Philly says.
“Ok good, I’ve been waiting for some action,” Eve calls back.
“Well, your part starts now we just killed the last of ‘em” Philly says. Roger also does his part and kills the rest of the infected cells.
Jolee gets everyone but Eve out of Klaus’s throat and returns us to human form.
“How are you feeling Klaus?” Reese asks.
Rick counters with another question, “Before we get to that I think I have the bigger question. Where’s Bernard?”
“He was infected by the bacteria,” Roger answers not having to add what he had to do.
“Oh,” Rick rasps trying to talk past the lump in his throat. I can tell he is about to cry, “Well, is-is Eve ok?”
“Yes, she just has to make sure the virus doesn't come back,” Jolee replies.
“At least Bernard helped make me feel better,” Klaus tries, “speaking of which I’m feeling better Reese”
“I think I can retrieve Eve now,” Jolee says.
Soon Eve has joined us in Jolee’s living room, and something unbelievable happens.
Roger’s stomach starts to rumble, and he let’s out the biggest burp I've ever heard. But it’s not the burp that was unbelievable; it was what he burped out.
Bernard was now on the ground coughing.
“Bernard!” Rick cried, “Is it really you?”
“Umm, Yes it’s really me,” Bernard answers as if he forgot who he was.
“Wow, looks like this adventure has a happy ending after all,” I say shocked that Bernard was standing in the room. We all laugh and gather in the dining room for a nice hot dinner.
